Personal Support Worker Training in London
Anderson College London offers Personal Support Worker training on Richmond Street in the heart of downtown London. Our hybrid 27-week diploma combines online theory with in-person labs at our Richmond Street campus and a supervised clinical placement, preparing you for PSW roles across London-Middlesex long-term care homes, hospitals, and home-support agencies.
What You Need to Know in 30 Seconds
The Personal Support Worker (PSW) Hybrid Program at Anderson College is a 27-week program that blends flexible online theory with in-person lab training and two supervised practicums — 5 weeks in long-term care and 3 weeks in community care. Students work alongside real care teams in hospitals, long-term care facilities, home care agencies, retirement residences, and palliative care centres.
The curriculum covers personal care and hygiene assistance, meal preparation and household support, respectful person-centered caregiving, verbal and non-verbal communication, record-keeping and reporting, confidentiality protocols, infection prevention, safe body mechanics and lifting, common chronic illnesses, cognitive impairments and responsive behaviours, mental wellness, palliative and end-of-life care, grief sensitivity, and cultural considerations. Students also complete Standard First Aid and CPR training as part of the program.
Classes are small, led by instructors with PSW expertise, and backed by Anderson's 140+ year commitment to student success. Career services — resume building, interview preparation, and job-fair access — are available for life. Financial Assistance may be available to those who qualify; our Admissions team is happy to walk through the options.
