When you think about the future, are you providing services in a high-end spa or wellness centre, or are you an entrepreneur? If yes, then you have the passion and commitment to become a Medical Esthetician.
As a Medical Esthetician, your role is one of customer care, from booking appointments and greeting your clients to providing them with skin analysis, applying make-up, providing cosmetic massage and performing regular or medical facial treatments. You may also provide laser, and radio frequency treatments as well as microdermabrasion. As a professional, you pride yourself on upholding standards in order to prevent the transmission of contamination or any infection.
Beyond direct client care, Medical Estheticians are professionals adept at communications and management duties such as scheduling and confirming appointments; performing preparatory work and properly cleaning and restocking rooms/dispensaries as required; controlling and monitoring inventory; as well as, promoting treatments, services, sessions and programs available to clients. You are a multi-tasker and have a passion for understanding the specialized knowledge around all that you offer to clients and enjoy educating and informing them in these myriad areas.
The program is 66 weeks, including a 4-week practicum with on-the-job training, offsite with potential employers. During our program you will obtain the skills required for your new career, delivered by our industry-expert instructors, and apply those learnings in our facility with state-of-the-art spa and laser equipment. You will gain knowledge in skin care, human anatomy, nutrition, and the importance of bacteriology and decontamination to both the esthetician and client. You will gain experience in a variety of services including nail technology, skin care, manicures & pedicures, make-up artistry, body treatments, facials and various laser treatments.
The program covers the business management and computer skills you’ll need for contributing to or running your own salon or spa, as well as customer service strategies in developing and maintaining positive customer relationships and adhering to the professional standards and ethics of the industry. You will also cover the scope of practice of a Medical Esthetician in a medical environment. And finally, the 4-week practicum allows you to experience the work environment and put into practice your classroom instructions.
Whether new to Canada and looking to expand your experience, trained in healthcare and wanting to specialize, or new to this sector and fascinated by where this diploma can take your future, this program is second-to-none.

“The most rewarding part of teaching for me is the “ah ha” moment; the moment a student truly understands the subject matter, which encourages and strengthens their passion for knowledge.”
As an educator, Pina Lee calls upon more than 18 years of aesthetics industry experience and over three decades’ experience in sales to empower students with a solid foundation of technical and soft skills.
