What You Need to Know in 30 Seconds
The Cardiology Technology Diploma at Anderson College is a 76-week, on-campus program that trains students to perform diagnostic cardiac testing — ECGs, Holter monitoring, exercise stress testing, and cardiac function assessment. It is EQual-accredited (Accreditation Canada), so graduates are eligible to challenge the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT) certification exam.
The curriculum covers medical terminology, ethics and legal principles, infection prevention and WHMIS, human and cardiac anatomy, electrophysiology, hemodynamics, cardiovascular pathology, ECG fundamentals, arrhythmia interpretation, Holter setup and analysis, stress and blood-pressure monitoring, and clinical documentation. Students complete 600 practicum hours in hospital and cardiac clinic settings, along with CSCT exam review, Standard First Aid, and CPR (Basic Life Support).
Instruction happens in small classes with industry-experienced instructors and advanced labs. Students benefit from career services for life — resume building, interview preparation, and job-fair access — plus alumni-network access, all part of Anderson's 140+ year commitment to student success. - Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent with senior level College (C) University (U) level courses: English, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry or Biology (preferred), OR
- Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diploma, OR
- Completion of a minimum of two of Anderson College Pre-med courses, OR
- Ontario High School Equivalency Certificate (GED) with senior level College (C) University (U) level courses: English, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry or Biology (preferred)
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) within 30 days of starting practicum
- Up-to-date immunization with mandatory Hep B immunization within 30 days of starting practicum
- English language proficiency for applicants whose first language is not English (TOEFL iBT 83, IELTS Academic 6.0W/6.5S/7.5L/6.5R, CAEL 70, PTE 60, or equivalent)
- Profession-Specific Aptitude Test covering reading comprehension, math, science, career awareness, and reasoning
