Better Jobs Ontario

Education is one of the most important investments in life. “Can I afford it?” is a question frequently asked by our students, especially if they’ve been laid off or are looking to create a career path that will provide greater security for the future.

WHAT IS BETTER JOBS ONTARIO FUNDING?

Better Jobs Ontario Funding is an education funding available for recently laid-off unemployed workers. For many, long-term skills training is essential in the transition to in-demand career opportunities, and our practical programs and real-life training, delivered by high-calibre, industry-expert faculty, can take you there. You just need funding options to get you back to school and work. If you are a recently laid-off unemployed worker, an active EI claimant or EI reachback, you may be able to access this funding. Based on your eligibility, Anderson College can assist you as you:

  • Train for a new career
  • Find out what is needed in the job market
  • Learn about careers that build on your skills
  • Apply for second career funding

HOW CAN IT HELP YOU?

The Better Jobs Ontario Funding empowers you to receive the education and training necessary to become skilled, confident and in-demand in the marketplace. It provides funding to pay for tuition and supporting expenses such as:

  • Books
  • Living expenses
  • Help caring for dependents
  • Travel & transportation
  • Disability supports
  • Other living and training costs

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Better Jobs Ontario Funding starts with a visit to a Better Jobs Ontario Admissions Advisor at an employment assessment centre. They will work with you to help you prepare a training plan and apply for Second Career funding.

WHAT WILL THE ADMISSIONS ADVISOR NEED TO KNOW?

Your Admissions Advisor will need to know about:

  • Your work history
  • Your education and training
  • Your skills
  • Your interests

WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW?

Contact an employment assessment centre to get it started. Or contact us now so we can guide you toward your next steps.

Want Help Navigating All the Options?

No need to do it alone. Contact a member of our Admissions team and we’ll work with you to match your interests and goals to a program and walk you through the steps that lead to start-day and career success.
