Why CIFFA Certification is Essential for a Supply Chain and Logistics Graduate

Why CIFFA Certification is Essential for a Supply Chain and Logistics Graduate

As you embark on an in-demand, fast-paced, ever-expanding career as a supply chain and logistics professional, it is essential that you have the credentials that give you the competitive edge.

The Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association (CIFFA) supply chain management certification offers, precisely, that. The supply chain management courses and supply chain and logistics training you select must include an eligibility to receive this CIFFA certification – recognized as a symbol of excellence by Canadian importers and exporters nationwide – if you are to thrive in your profession.

Anderson College is proud to not only align its Supply Chain & Logistics program curriculum with the highest industry standards recognized by CIFFA, and employ field-expert instructors, but in addition to CIFFA certification eligibility Anderson graduates also receive membership to the Supply Chain Management Association.

What is CIFFA Really and Why Does it Matter to YOU?

What is CIFFA?

The Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association was founded September 1948 in Montreal. It was started by a small group of freight forwarders who saw a need to create an industry association to meet the professional demands of its members. Their goals, to this very day, are:

  • To support and protect the industry and its workers with uniform trade practices and regulations,
  • To establish rules for proper arbitration between members and others,
  • To deal with all questions affecting the interests of foreign freight forwarders at large,
  • To represent the industry in Parliament.”

CIFFA is a world-class brand with international strength and a track record for high standards, success and strong relationships with leading-edge freight forwarders, load brokers and myriad companies and governing bodies. A CIFFA certification, as a supply chain and logistics professional, is synonymous with quality and excellence.

Why is CIFFA Relevant to a Career in Supply Chain & Logistics?

Whatever role you play in the movement of goods, you need to be able to effectively and efficiently plan and execute shipments, understand transportation and freight operations, accurately quote and arrange shipments and manage transportation documentation, and so much more. A professional in this field has a complex job indeed.

Supply chain management programs recognized by CIFFA as offering training of the highest standards, thus making you eligible for certification, give you access to this renowned brand and association. CIFFA not only opens doors, but advocates on your behalf and provides ongoing career support and training, so you’re always in the know when it comes to industry advancements.

What Are the Practical Benefits of Becoming CIFFA Certified?
