A Thought to Ponder

“Believe in yourself. You are braver than you think, more talented than you know, and capable of more than you imagine.”
― Roy T. Bennett

Nothing is more powerful than the energy and momentum created by believing in oneself. To know somewhere deep within that you deserve a bright future, a rewarding career, loving relationships, freedom from worry, and joy and laughter in your life, is the first step to achieving all of that. With belief in yourself, move in the direction of your dream, and trust that, just like those spring buds, you’ll know how to grow into the light, moment by moment.

A Short Story to Inspire

Once upon a time, a group of tiny frogs arranged a running competition. The goal was to reach the top of a very high tower. A big crowd had gathered around the tower to see the race and cheer on the contestants. The race began, but really, no one in the crowd believed that the tiny frogs would reach the top of the tower.

You heard statements such as, “Oh, it is WAY too difficult!” “They’ll NEVER make it to the top.” “Not a chance that they’ll succeed. The tower is too high!”

The tiny frogs began collapsing one by one, except for those few who continued to keep pace. They were climbing higher and higher. The crowd continued to yell, “It’s too difficult! No one will make it!” More tiny frogs got tired and gave up. But ONE tiny frog continued higher and higher and higher; this one wouldn’t give up! In the end, every other frog had given up climbing the tower, except for this one tiny frog. Determined, he had reached the top!

All the other tiny frogs wanted to know how this one frog managed to do it? They gathered around, and one asked the tiny frog how he had found the strength to succeed and reach the goal. The frog didn’t respond at all; he just stayed silent with a big smile of success on his face.

Later, they came to discover that that tiny little frog, the winner, was DEAF!

Moral
Our determination to achieve our goal can be swayed by the negativity of others, and we can make that negative voice our own. Be deaf to those words, those voices of others and even your own that tell you anything less than how capable and spectacular you are. Singularly focused on your goal, with belief in yourself, you can achieve anything.
