Our Law Clerk students had the pleasure of welcoming Tim Hudak, CEO of the Ontario Real Estate Association to one of their classes recently. Mr. Hudak arrived, smiling, and visibly excited to share his experience and knowledge with the class. As he said himself, Real Estate is one of Ontario’s biggest industries and is a field of interest for many of our students. Some of them already work as Real Estate Agents and others wish to specialize in the field after graduation.
Although the Law Clerk Program focuses on various areas such as family or corporate law, our students also study real estate law. After graduation they will have the opportunity to write the provincial law clerk exam for this category.
Tim Hudak is a model of success, not only in real estate, but also in politics. He started as a member of the Ontario Provincial Parliament and later became the leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada. He shared the three rules to his success with the class; be the person who stands out and take chances, work hard and build a reputation, and finally, develop lasting and trusting relationships.

His speech sparked interest in the students, who had many questions. Their questions ranged from asking whether bidding wars during the house purchasing process was legal practice in Canada, to general questions regarding real estate laws and what could be expected in the market over the next few years.
The students were then able to take a photo with Mr. Hudak and exchange a few words with him. This was a wonderful opportunity for our students to have an open discussion with Mr. Hudak and learn more about real-estate.
