Every month is one in which we should celebrate love and relationships, February is just a fantastic excuse to focus on them, and have a little fun. While we may get the impression that Valentine’s Day is about romantic love, obviously that is just one form of these precious and inspiring connections.
As hard-working Anderson students, you deserve to pause a moment, take a deep breath, and celebrate your love and dedication, to your aspirations, loved ones, and the community you’ll serve in taking your career and contributions to new heights.
We’re inviting you to celebrate the love in your life, with your best friend (that’s You), your family, kindred friends, even strangers, and yes if you’ve got one, your partner too! Attuning ourselves to receiving and expressing love, opens us up to new experiences, a new perspective on what is flowing beautifully in our lives and how we can further enrich the lives of others.
This month’s Connect is intended to delight and inspire a surge of lovey-dovey feelings from our Anderson family to you and yours. Enjoy!

A Thought to Ponder
“The best and most beautiful things in this world cannot be seen or even heard but must be felt with the heart.”– Helen Keller
As you move through the days of February, lean in and lead with your heart, as you connect with colleagues, instructors, the people you know and the people you meet. As you see the beauty in others, you will be more attuned to the remarkable nature and ways of You; and you’ll get a glimpse into how much we, at Anderson College, appreciate having you journey with us.
A Short Story to Inspire
The North Wind and the Sun had a quarrel about which of them was the stronger. While they were disputing with great intensity, a Traveler passed along the road wrapped in a heavy coat.
“Let us agree,” said the Sun, “that whomever can strip the Traveler of his coat is the stronger.”
“Very well,” growled the North Wind, and at once sent a cold, howling blast against the Traveler.
With the first gust of wind the ends of the coat whipped about the Traveler’s body. He immediately wrapped it closely around him, and the harder the Wind blew, the tighter he held it to him. The North Wind tore angrily at the coat, but all his efforts were in vain.
Then the Sun began to shine. At first his beams were gentle, and in the pleasant warmth after the bitter cold of the North Wind, the Traveler unfastened his coat and let it hang loosely from his shoulders. The Sun’s rays grew warmer and warmer. The man took off his cap and wiped his brow. At last, he became so over heated that he pulled off his coat, and, to escape the blazing sunshine, threw himself down in the welcome shade of a tree by the roadside.
The Moral of the Story ~ Gentleness and warmth, have infinitely more power than fury, fuss, and force.
