Student Fighting COVID-19 – Yi’s Story

Student Fighting COVID-19 – Yi’s Story

Everything has changed – our priorities, our routines, and the way we live. While COVID-19 has separated us physically, we are more determined to stay connected with you. Whether you are combatting COVID-19 at the front line or from home.

Yi L. is an Immigration Consultant student at the North York campus. Here is her story:

What do you like most about your virtual classes?

I can express my thoughts anytime during class using the chat function, as it doesn’t interrupt my classmates. Students share more thoughts than they would in the classroom, and they feel free to express their opinions. The time we save from our commute can be spent reading, which is more important to us. Our Instructors can share more information with us by posting links too. I love virtual classes!

What is your best study tip for online learning?

Online classes give me an opportunity to do more research.

What is the biggest challenge with online learning?

So far, so good. Sometimes there are technical glitches, but we help each other straight away if that happens!

Share your favourite moment from your virtual classes

We share so much information in the chat section during our classes, it helps us with our learning.

Share a message you would like to pass on to our frontline workers

My sincere appreciation to the workers at Anderson college for both setting up and supporting virtual classes.
