New Comer to Successful Registered Pharmacy Technician-Rupinder’s Journey

Each year, in the spirit of celebrating the diverse and powerful experiences of our students, we run a story contest. Again in 2024, the response was awe inspiring, with over 150 submissions.
We asked, “How has Anderson College changed your life?” … This is one of those extraordinary student stories.
We hope this reflection moves you, as it has our Anderson family, and inspires you to ever embrace the career and life you imagine and, truly, deserve. Rest assured we are here to help you navigate each step along the way to success.

Attending college is not just about securing a job; it’s about developing a strong mind, self-awareness, and the ability to serve others—qualities that can also enhance career opportunities. This belief guided my decision to enroll in the Pharmacy Technician diploma program at Anderson College, a one-year, CCAPP-accredited course. Although I initially had reservations about how a two-year curriculum could be condensed into a fast-track, one-year program, I chose to take on the challenge.
“As an immigrant to Canada, my time at Anderson College has been transformative.”
The admissions process, facilitated by Ms. Patricia Lynn, was seamless, and Anderson College soon felt like a second home. The staff are welcoming, and the instructors, notably Mr. Jeet Bhatt, Ms. Jagdeep Bath, and Mr. George, are experienced and supportive. They not only teach the necessary academic material but also focus on the holistic development needed in the pharmaceutical industry, sharing their real-world experiences to broaden our understanding of patient care.
“The robust curriculum and the dedication of the faculty have equipped me well, and I am proud to say that I am now a Registered Pharmacy Technician in Ontario.”
As an immigrant to Canada, my time at Anderson College has been transformative. I have gained a comprehensive understanding of pharmacy practices, laws, and ethics, and I am now fully aware of my professional scope, particularly regarding patient care, privacy, and confidentiality. Choosing Anderson College has been one of the best decisions of my life.
The robust curriculum and the dedication of the faculty have equipped me well, and I am proud to say that I am now a Registered Pharmacy Technician in Ontario. I am currently employed full time as a registered pharmacy technician at Shoppers Drug Mart.
