Life After Anderson Pre-Med – Next Steps to Becoming a Doctor

Life After Anderson Pre-Med – Next Steps to Becoming a Doctor

You’ve completed your rewarding, albeit challenging, three-semester intensive in Anderson College’s Pre-Medical program. You’ve met the pre-med requirements, tackled your pre-med courses and your sights are keenly set on medical school. What now?

With the traditional route to med school, you may have been looking at three more years of prep, reference letters, studying and trying your MCAT and then, with fingers crossed, applying for medical school. (Trying desperately to put the stiff competition and the fact that only 15% of applicants get accepted first time round, out of your mind).

This is not your reality when you’ve chosen Anderson College Pre-Med as your pathway. As a grad of this program, here are the steps you’ll leap to next, and the incredible place you’ll get to do it in.

Next Steps to Becoming a Doctor Via the Anderson College – SGU Pathway.

1.Claiming Your Pre-Qualified Spot at St. George’s University (SGU)

Having selected the Anderson College – SGU pathway program, met the requirements for both schools, completed the Anderson Pre-Medical program, maintained a 3.2 or-higher-grade-point-average, you are set for the next step … the interview process. After successfully presenting yourself during the interview and showing SGU you’re qualified and ready for what comes next … You. Did. It. You’ve taken full advantage of your provisional acceptance at SGU, and maybe even qualified for financial aid and for that $5,000 scholarship they’re offering.

“The Canada Scholarship offers partial tuition awards to Canadian citizens/permanent residents who exhibit academic excellence, demonstrate financial need, and are dedicated to the enhancement of medical care systems. These awards are grants-in-aid and do not have to be repaid.”

With St. George’s University being the centre of international education, drawing students and faculty from 140 countries to the island of Grenada, in the West Indies to its programs in medical program, you are in excellent hands as you enter into your studies. SGU is affiliated with educational institutions worldwide, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Ireland and this offers you limitless opportunities as you learn from industry leaders and look to complete your residency and gain experience to bring home to your medical practice in Canada.
