Kalpana Launches Canadian Dream – A Supply Chain Career in 1 Year!

Each year, in the spirit of celebrating the diverse and powerful experiences of our students, we run a story contest. Again in 2024, the response was awe inspiring, with over 150 submissions.

We asked, “How has Anderson College changed your life?” … This is one of those extraordinary student stories.

I was blinded by the bright lights of tall, towering buildings in the heart of Toronto, pushed aside by the time-conscious travelers running out of Union Station and overwhelmed by the number of emails I had sent in search of employment without any response.

I was lost in a country filled with opportunities; the Canadian dream, wasn’t my reality.

Or so I thought.

On impulse I made the drastic decision to put aside my decade of experience and the feathers of master’s and bachelor’s from my cap and stepped on the first rung of the ladder of education all over again, a diploma.

Fast forward to 2024 … I can count my blessings as I recall the first session I had with my instructor; a simple, sensible gentleman in white shirt, with a humble smile, who made learning online a remarkable experience. Little did I know at the time that this little association and the learnings would change my entire future in Canada.

The same timid immigrant who had no idea of her self-worth laid the foundation for an online platform that sold hand-made products and experienced the Canadian hospitality. As I made my mark on the CIFFA platform, and achieved my certification with an impressive Honours result, the offers started pouring in. The internship placement came as a blessing as I secured a permanent position exploring the potential of the North American apparel market.

Here I am a year later, a supply chain professional who built her life with the Anderson team by her side.
