How to Become a Medical Office Administrator in Canada

There are two MOA programs to explore at Anderson College – one that is online, 44 weeks and includes a Capstone Project and one that is accredited*, 48 weeks and includes an 8-week of practicum with on-the-job training , offsite with potential employers. In this second program Anderson College will coordinate a clinical practicum placement within a healthcare setting to provide students with practical experience.

Both programs cover a wide variety of theoretical concepts, including health administrative team roles and responsibilities; the study of basic human anatomy and medical terminology; document formatting and business correspondence; computer fundamentals; and, patient care and communication, etc. Upon successful completion of either of these programs, graduates can find employment in doctors’ offices, chiropractor offices, medical clinics, hospitals, insurance companies, and more.
