Hired on Her 1st Week of Placement: Read Marivie’s Journey.
By Jennifer Maki · Communications Specialist

It all started with a visit to Anderson. Read Marivie’s journey, written in her own words.

My story at Anderson all started after looking at their website. I didn’t even think about this seriously because it was just 3 weeks after giving birth. I will never forget my interview at the campus. I was so scared and excited at the same time. I was carrying my 3-week-old baby in the assessment room, trying to write the answers with my right hand while my 11-year-old son was holding the paper for me to write on. That was so hard for me – but thank God, I did it!!!!
“I was so nervous on my first day of school until I met our instructor. She made me feel so calm and energized. It was so amazing every day!”
I was so nervous on my first day of school until I met our instructor. She made me feel so calm and energized. It was so amazing every day! I felt so excited to get to my classes and was so eager to learn new things. My instructor encouraged us and motivated us to do more and go above and beyond.
“My instructor helped us a lot. I am so grateful for her because I was hired from the 1st week of my placement.”
It was so great being in school. My instructor helped us a lot. I am so grateful for her because I was hired from the 1st week of my placement. She motivated me to look forward and be positive, just to do my best and work beyond. I am so thankful because I am now working full time and at the same time working as a lunchroom supervisor at TDSB.
Thank you, Anderson College, for bringing up this opportunity for us!
