The Personal Support Worker (PSW) program is about learning how to assist with personal care for patients that are dealing with the effects of aging, injury, or illness. Personal Support Workers work under the direction of a registered nurse or registered practical nurse assisting patients with personal hygiene, meal preparations, household management, and dealing with various conditions. This program will teach students a variety of important issues such as code of ethics, identifying abuse, assisting an individual with mobility, household management, cognitive impairment, and mental health issues.
At Anderson College students will gain practical knowledge in our fully equipped labs, learn from experienced instructors, and prepare for your National Association of Certified Caregivers certification (NACC). All our programs at Anderson College include a practicum. As a Personal Support Worker, students will be able to work in a wide range of facilities such as hospitals, agencies, senior recreation centers, long term care facilities, private homes, or The Board of Education- Special Ed.
