It all started with a visit to Anderson. Read Josephine’s journey, written in her own words.
I wanted to make changes in my life, and I wanted it to be a big change. Big enough that it would shape the direction of my future. I thought that going back to school would help me reach my goal. During my classroom days, I never missed a day at school. I wanted to learn everything and anything.
“I wanted to make changes in my life, and I wanted it to be a big change. Big enough that it would shape the direction of my future.”
Our professor taught us the importance of not only making money, but also having the compassion to help others. We were lucky to be given the opportunity to raise funds for a non-profit organization by selling pizza and raffle tickets. Our class was also asked to help in the Anderson Career Fair, we participated and made it a success.
“My work ethic was so strong, my supervisor said that I set a high bar for all the volunteers.”
I was able to learn the western standards of professionalism. My leadership skills, which were enhanced during the school projects, were very helpful and evident. When I completed my placement, I gained the skills needed to perform above and beyond what was expected of me. My work ethic was so strong, my supervisor said that I set a high bar for all the volunteers.
Now that I finished my formal education, I am embarking on a more challenging part of my life. Equipped with my skills and experience, I will face life’s challenges with confidence, and I will for sure hope for a better future.
