Why Did I Choose a Medical Esthetician Diploma in Canada?

I came to Toronto with a dream the dream of being able to work in my field, to be a professional, and to feel proud of what I had been trained for back home. When I registered for the medical esthetician diploma, I had many expectations, but also many fears.

I asked myself questions like:

  • Will I be able to do it?
  • How will my teachers be?
  • Am I going to pass my exams?

But when I met my teacher on the first day, I felt everything was going to be fine. It wasn’t going to be easy but it was going to be great. At that moment, I truly felt that my dream of becoming a successful medical esthetician was about to come true.

“I came to Toronto with a dream; the dream of being able to work in my field, to be a professional, to feel important in what I had been trained for back home.”

What Was My First Experience Like in the Medical Esthetician Training Program?

I still remember my first exam and my instructor repeating, “It’s not an exam, it’s a quiz – relax!” I was shaking as if the end of the world was coming, but I got a score of over 90/100! I was so happy, so excited after my first week of shaking, headaches and crying because it was not easy for me to take notes, study, and understand everything at once. All that stress and fear was still present during my final exam.

I remember when I saw a graduate with a red band, I asked my teacher what it signified. She answered that it was for graduates with honours, and I told her I was going to be one of them one day. Thanks to my teachers and my efforts, I achieved that goal, too! I want to thank them, my teachers, the administrators, my classmates, and my models for making my experience so wonderful.
