Why Did I Decide to Change Careers and Explore a PSW Program?
Anderson College truly changed my life in such a positive and wonderful way. I am so glad I chose to attend Anderson.
It all started when I was in my prior career, I felt the need to make a change in my life. I knew I was missing something. I felt unfulfilled and had a lack of purpose. I knew I had to go back to school, however, I was very hesitant at first because I had a family and worried how that would impact everything. I decided to reach out to Anderson College and the rest is history.

How Did Anderson College Support My PSW Training Journey?
The college was so helpful and set me up with everything I needed. They answered all my questions and made me feel very comfortable about starting my new journey with them. I chose to take the Personal Support Worker (PSW) program because I’ve always had a yearning to help people and wanted to feel a great purpose in the work I did.
All the staff at Anderson College were so welcoming, encouraging, and supportive from beginning to end. I took the leap of faith to change my career and am so proud and happy I did. I was able to thrive in the smaller classes and the content we studied was great. The hands-on aspect was so helpful. The program really prepared me for my new career as a PSW. I also really appreciated that the college assisted with the resume, interview, and portfolio processes. This really set me up for success in finding a job in the field that I love.
How Did the PSW Program Prepare Me for Real Healthcare Work?

I completed the Personal Support Worker diploma program right when the pandemic was starting. I was able to obtain a PSW position right away and be there for residents when they really needed me. It was a very difficult and dark time in healthcare, but I feel that I’m truly blessed that I was able to be there for so many during the whole pandemic and still now. It has been fulfilling, rewarding and filled my soul with purpose. I’m doing exactly what I’m supposed to be doing and I’m so thankful that Anderson College was there to support my transformation.
