I want to share my story in the hope that it will inspire, motivate, or simply encourage you to make a positive decision in your life. A year ago, my main aspirations were to visit my family in Vietnam annually and eventually buy a small house in Canada to live a peaceful and happy life. However, as a new immigrant working long hours in a kitchen with low pay, those dreams seemed distant and nearly impossible.

“This journey has been a profound experience of self-discovery, unveiling new opportunities in a field I had never considered before.”

Enrolling at Anderson College to train as a Medical Laboratory Assistant/Technician was a spontaneous decision, driven more by uncertainty than confidence. But it didn’t take long for me to realize that I was wrong. As I near the end of the program, I feel like a completely transformed person. This journey has been a profound experience of self-discovery, unveiling new opportunities in a field I had never considered before.

“Going back to school has changed my life in powerful ways — enhancing my skills, expanding my adaptability, and broadening my perspectives.”

When I reflect on my past experiences, I now see how they have all played a part in guiding me to this moment of success. With the professional training and support from Anderson, I now have a clear vision of where I want to be in a year, and even ten years from now. Going back to school has changed my life in powerful ways — enhancing my skills, expanding my adaptability, and broadening my perspectives. Ninety percent of the change lies within you, so take that first step. As Nelson Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
