From English Struggles to a Lab Technician Job in Canada

From English Struggles to a Lab Technician Job in Canada

It all started with a visit to Anderson. Read Juan’s journey, written in his own words.

I am Juan from Colombia and I have been in this lovely country called Canada for 4 years. When I first came to Canada, I could not speak English. I learned by watching Dora the Explorer and The Wiggles while I was working and studying English.

One year ago, I finally got the idea to study to become a Medical Lab Technician, just like my wife. I went to Anderson College and everybody was so friendly and helpful that I became even more enthusiastic to study there. When I met my instructors, I found that they were the warmest people ever.

“Both my instructors taught in the best way possible and that is why I passed the course with honours! I’m now working at JBMH as a Medical Lab Technician.”

Take the “Medical Professional Career Discovery Quiz”

After a couple of months, I started to study at Anderson alongside people who spoke better English than me, I was initially a little embarrassed to talk. After some time with my teacher, I felt more comfortable because the classes were so clear that I could understand everything. Both my instructors taught in the best way possible and that is why I passed the course with honours! I’m now working at JBMH as a Medical Lab Technician.
