From Courtroom Battles to Confidence in Medical Esthetics: Aida’s Journey

Career paths don’t always unfold the way we expect. For Aida, a challenging early experience in the corporate world sparked a powerful turning point, one that led her to rebuild her confidence, rediscover her creativity, and pursue a more empowering future. Her decision to explore the world of medical esthetics brought her to Anderson College, where she found not only a new career direction but a supportive community that helped her reconnect with her purpose. Her story will undoubtedly inspire you to consider your own career and perhaps explore opportunities to take it to new heights.

Finding Strength, Community, and a New Beginning in Medical Esthetics

In May 2021, I graduated from university with a bachelor’s degree in communications and began a job at a prestigious corporation. Initially, this job seemed like a great start to my career. However, things soon took a turn for the worse as my employer became verbally abusive, creating a toxic work environment.

I was threatened to release all my artwork to the company without compensation, which led to a court case to fight for my rights. After spending all my savings on a lawyer, the verdict was in my favour; I kept my artwork but was left without finances to support myself.

I decided to move to Toronto and pursue a career in communications within the beauty industry. After several job rejections and feeling like something was missing, I researched schools in cosmetology and found Anderson College.
