Why Did Kaye Choose a Career as a Personal Support Worker?
The desire to care for others has always been a cornerstone of my life. Witnessing the challenges faced by elderly relatives ignited a spark within me, propelling me towards a career in personal support work (PSW). Anderson College provided the ideal platform to nurture this passion and transform it into a fulfilling profession.
What Makes the PSW Course at Anderson College So Rewarding?
“The PSW program at Anderson College was demanding yet incredibly rewarding.”
Without the love and support of my family, I would not have been able to achieve this milestone, especially to my professor Ms. Lindsey, who inspires us to become a great future Personal Support Worker. The PSW program at Anderson College was demanding yet incredibly rewarding. The theoretical knowledge coupled with hands-on clinical experiences created a well-rounded foundation. I was challenged to step outside my comfort zone, building resilience and empathy. The support from both faculty and fellow students was invaluable, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose.
“Anderson College has equipped me with the tools to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.”
One particular clinical placement stands out as a defining moment. Caring for a patient with complex needs pushed me to my limits, but it also unveiled my capacity for compassion and problem-solving. The gratitude expressed by patients and their families served as constant motivation.
Anderson College has equipped me with the tools to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. As I embark on my career, I am filled with a sense of purpose and excitement. I am eager to apply my knowledge and skills to provide exceptional care, fostering independence and dignity for those in my care.
