Single Mom & Limitless Dreamer: Caregiving Leads to a PSW Career

I am always a dreamer and a believer. Like everyone says, “If others can make it, why can’t I?” My status as a single mother didn’t stop me from dreaming and believing that one day I could achieve something.

“I am so passionate about caring for others for me, caring is giving what you have and what you can within you.”

I started as a child caregiver. I am so passionate about caring for others, which has become my best tool in stepping into being a caregiver. For me, caring is giving what you have and what you can within you. At the age of 23, I moved from my country (Philippines) to enter the world of caregiving. My stepping stone was Saudi Arabia, where I spent three years working as a childcare giver. After that, opportunities kept opening doors for me. I was able to go to other countries like Hong Kong and took care of a child with special needs for two years.

“Anderson College held my hand tightly from admission until I successfully completed the course.”

With a grateful heart, Canada opened a door of opportunity for me. I was hired as a child caregiver and worked four consecutive years in this position until I found Anderson College and decided to go back to school.

Anderson College is the key to turning my career into a more wholesome caregiving career. I took the Personal Support Worker course. Anderson College held my hand tightly from admission until I successfully completed the course. I am now confident to say that I am ready to launch and begin the journey to enter the career in my chosen field.
